Virtual Organizing

What is Virtual Organizing?

Virtual Organizing works in exactly the same way as a standard in-person organizing session, only instead of meeting face-to-face in your home, we work together via Zoom or FaceTime.

There are two main differences between VO sessions and in person:

  1. One of the greatest benefits of hiring a professional organizer is the motivational energy they bring to a project. My goal is to make the process much more fun than it would be on your own, and when you need encouragement or momentum to make decisions — I’ve got your back! Even though we’ll still be interacting on video chat, it is a different vibe than being face to face.

  2. With virtual organizing I can’t be physically present to help you (literally) do the heavy lifting! You won’t have the extra set of hands to help with sorting and lugging things around that an organizer would provide in person. Organizing can be pretty labor-intensive if you have a lot of clutter, and you can expect to be doing a lot of lifting, relocating items, loading/unloading items for donation or disposal, etc. You might even be moving furniture around if you want to restyle the space.

What are the benefits of Virtual Organizing?

  • Flexibility in completing tasks on your own time. If you work best late at night or in the wee hours of the morning, this is a great option for you!

  • Time and Cost savings. Most in-home sessions will be 3-4 hours at minimum, whereas VO sessions are typically one hour.

  • Distance doesn’t matter. If you’d like to work together, but you’re outside my service area, this is the perfect way to go.

How does Virtual Organizing work?

You’ll walk me through your space virtually, and we’ll discuss your goals, your strengths and your challenges. Then we’ll come up with a plan tailored to you so you can tackle that project and create more organized solutions for your space!

In between sessions, you’ll have homework, and we’ll work together in our sessions to create the plan, plot your approach and get you started. Then we’ll meet to revisit your progress and achievement, and, if necessary, troubleshoot any challenges you ran into along the way.
